Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld (/kɑːl/ /cəld/ [short; low] [stream; creek]) is a subtropical Town located in Sjevāqi̊iē̼ County, Dakyehgdew Kingdom, within the United Kingdom of Undermountain.

The name Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld is derived from the Dwarven language, as Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld was founded by Êyegarëg̈ Zehndtubckexu, who was culturaly Dwarvern.

Overview

Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld was founded durring the early 14th century in fall of the year 1317, by Êyegarëg̈ Zehndtubckexu. The establishment of Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of premissive paverstone streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. The robustly designed timber walls has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

They may have been drawn by economic opportunities, or fled some pursuing peril, or been forcibly moved there by a ruler who wanted to dilute the existing native cohesion. The natives may not have the resources or opportunities to integrate these newcomers, and it may be that the new population has no desire to stay longer than is necessary.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century heavy spring rains following an uncharacteristically dry year and a minor earthquake resulted in the collapse of the north west face of Mount Cursed Fates. the landslide struck Ådehlÿ Cål Cäld, and devastated the community. 137 people, 239 livestock, and 85 buildings were lost to the calamity. The disaster is recorded in history as Cursed Fates's Fall.
